An expert panel will address new trends in drive technology
Galco Industrial Electronics (Galco), will host it’s second “What Drives Our Industry” webinar installment in partnership with the world’s leading power and automation technology company ABB on June 15.
The second webinar session “AC/DC Drives: Flexibility, Efficiency, Availability” is scheduled for Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 2 p.m. EST. The webinar is designed for commercial and industrial businesses, contractors, government agencies, institutions, and utilities.

The second “What Drives Our Industry” webinar will feature a panel of experts to share new trends in drive technology and the industry, supply chain issues and how Galco and ABB are addressing them with crossing and sizing solutions, and digitalisation and energy efficiency technology for I/O, optimisation, and reduced energy use.
Panelists include Michael Herman, ABB regional strategic sales manager – system drives, Jeff Vornhagen, ABB regional sales engineer for the Detroit region, and Randy Barbet, Galco technical support manager.
Herman has over 30 years of Drives and Automation industry experience in engineering, sales, and sales management capacities. In his role at ABB, Herman is responsible for growing ABBs market share of products and packaged solutions in the high power/performance product platform through current and prospective customers. He also acts as lead on large projects and pursuits aligned with the overall growth strategy of the System Drives Group.
With over 30 years of experience in sales of and sales support for Automation Products including PLC’s, HMI, VFD’s, and Servo Drive systems at the HTAD (High Tech Authorised Distributor) and manufacturer level, Vornhagen brings a wealth of knowledge to ABB. His previous roles include Application Engineer, OEM Key Account Manager, Regional Sales Manager and Regional Sales Engineer in support of sales of Automation Products through distribution and to direct accounts, regionally and nationally. Vornhagen earned his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan 1988 and is a featured speaker on VFD’s to trade organisations such as Rural Water Associations and Water Well Associations throughout the Midwest.
Barbet has been a valuable member of the Galco team for over 25 years, starting off as a field service technician. From there, he advanced to a repair services manager before landing his current position as Technical Support Manager. In this role, Barbet is instrumental in assisting customers by helping them find the right component for their job or project, troubleshooting products to ensure efficient business solutions, and providing cross-referencing solutions for hard-to-find parts.
