At the heart of Denmark’s ferry terminals.

During the last 25 years, Serman & Tipsmark have supplied parts to many different types of industry including heavy industry, wind turbines and the mobile sector.

One of the prominent industries they provide parts for is offshore and marine.

Serman & Tipsmark have built a reputation on being influential in large-scale installations around Europe.

Some of the most prominent, or well-known installations the Danish hydraulic systems manufacturer is known for providing are complete test benches for quality control of components and hydraulic systems for ferry terminals across Scandinavia.

Most often these installations include supplying equipment for both ferry berths and passenger gangways – thereby providing the complete hydraulic and electrical control system, including onsite installation.

Some of these include the Ports of Frederikshavn, Hirtshals, Kristianssand, Gedser, Rostock, Strømstad, Sandefjord, Risavika, Ystad and Rønne.

The manufacturer is now building a new passenger gangway and ferry ramp where cars roll on and off for a Ro-Ro ferry berth to Fjordline in Hirtshals in Northern Jutland, Denmark. The whole project is due to be installed and ready in the first half of 2020.

“We’re always able to find a high-quality solution that creates added value for our customers.

This is also one of the reasons why we can supply to all types of customers including the local mechanical workshop, to world leading companies within their fields, including: MAN Energy Solution, Siemens Gamesa, Vestas, Danfoss Power Solution, Parker Hannifin, FMC Technip, Wärtslia and Emerson”

Safety is a keyword for Serman & Tipsmark, which is why installation is made with both electrical and mechanical monitoring of essential safety and work functions. And with approximately 30 years’ experience, company Managing Director, Alex Laursen believes the Danish company thrives on tackling any challenge:

“From the initial consultancy and development to design, construction, production, testing and delivery of hydraulics in all their forms and for any purpose, we take on challenges like installation at many of Denmark’s ports, with both hands.

Our expertise encompasses control systems, mechanics and hydraulics and we develop quality solutions, regardless of whether it involves components, systems or complete
machines.”
